Spoiler warning: this article reveals Episode 8 and the ending of Ahsoka Season 1. Sabine Wren ends the season on Peridea with Ahsoka Tano and Huyang; Ezra Bridger returns to the familiar galaxy and reunites with Hera Syndulla; Grand Admiral Thrawn reaches Dathomir with the Great Mothers; and Baylan Skoll remains on Peridea near figures associated with the Mortis gods. The finale establishes their whereabouts without settling what all four will do next.
The important distinction is that returning to the main galaxy and escaping Peridea are not the same achievement. Ezra travels aboard the enemy's ship, while Ahsoka's victory over Morgan Elsbeth does not stop Thrawn from leaving. The table separates the final location shown on screen, what the story or official announcements establish about each character's purpose, and what remains unanswered.
Where does each character end up in the Season 1 finale?
| Character | Last location shown | Situation and known objective | Unanswered question |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sabine Wren | Peridea, in the other galaxy, with Ahsoka and Huyang. | Uses the Force to send Ezra toward Thrawn's ship, then chooses to stay and help Ahsoka. | How will she leave Peridea and continue her training? |
| Ezra Bridger | The main galaxy, aboard a New Republic cruiser, reunited with Hera and Chopper. | Returns in disguise aboard Thrawn's transport. In 2026, Lucasfilm described him as standing with the New Republic against the Imperial remnant. | What specific part will he play in the response to Thrawn's return? |
| Grand Admiral Thrawn | Dathomir, in the main galaxy. | Escapes with the Great Mothers and his military resources. Lucasfilm has announced the threat of his attempt to rally the Imperial remnant. | What exactly is his purpose on Dathomir, and how will he carry out his plan? |
| Baylan Skoll | Peridea, near sculptures associated with the Mortis gods. | Pursues the presence or power he says he senses on the planet, apart from the others. | What is calling to him, and what will he do if he finds it? |
Why did Ezra return while Sabine stayed on Peridea?
As the heroes try to catch Thrawn's Star Destroyer, Sabine uses the Force to launch Ezra toward the ship. Instead of attempting to follow him, she chooses to help Ahsoka, who is fighting Morgan Elsbeth. Ahsoka defeats Morgan, but Thrawn still escapes. The episode presents Sabine's decision as an act of loyalty, not proof that she will never find another way home.
Ezra takes the reverse route: he travels unnoticed among enemy personnel and later appears aboard a New Republic vessel, where he reunites with Hera and Chopper. That reunion confirms he has returned home. It does not show an organized rescue mission for Ahsoka and Sabine. They remain on Peridea with Huyang and the Noti, a local community Ezra had lived alongside.
Thrawn reached Dathomir, not the New Republic capital
The closing moments place Thrawn and the Great Mothers on Dathomir. That matters: reaching the main galaxy does not mean he has already conquered its systems or launched a particular attack on the New Republic capital. What the finale proves is that the commander and his allies returned despite the heroes' attempt to stop them.
Lucasfilm's August 15, 2026 announcement describes Thrawn's return as a threat involving the Imperial remnant rallying behind him. That establishes the broad direction of the next conflict, but not every future move or Dathomir's exact role in his strategy.
What do the statues reveal, and leave unresolved, about Baylan?
Baylan does not leave with Thrawn. His last scenes keep him on Peridea beside sculptures associated with the Father and the Son from the Mortis storyline previously seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. This visual connects his search to the mythology of the Force. It does not identify the presence he seeks or confirm that he has found any particular entity.
Baylan's story should not be conflated with Shin Hati's: the two part ways before the ending. Shin is shown near a group of Peridea bandits, while Baylan continues on his own. Elsewhere on the planet, Morai and Anakin Skywalker's Force manifestation appear in the closing moments of Ahsoka's journey. These are separate narrative clues, not definitive answers to Baylan's mission.
What has been officially announced for Season 2?
On August 15, 2026, Lucasfilm announced January 20, 2027 as the Disney+ premiere date for Ahsoka Season 2. That is the date in the global announcement; the sources checked here do not independently establish any country-specific licensing terms or Brazilian availability details.
The studio has confirmed the return of characters including Ahsoka, Sabine, Ezra, and Thrawn. In May 2026 it also announced that Rory McCann would take over the role of Baylan Skoll, played by Ray Stevenson in Season 1. This confirms the role will continue with a new actor, not how Baylan's search on Peridea ends. A teaser likewise should not be treated as proof of scenes or outcomes beyond what it actually depicts.
The starting point for the continuation is therefore clear: Ezra and Thrawn have returned to the main galaxy for opposing reasons, while Sabine, Ahsoka, and Baylan remain on Peridea. Whether these groups reunite, how the New Republic responds, and what is calling to Baylan are unresolved by the Season 1 finale.
