Hollywood Arts brings back four Victorious characters identified by Netflix: Trina Vega (Daniella Monet), Helen Dubois (Yvette Nicole Brown), Erwin Sikowitz (Eric Lange), and Robbie Shapiro (Matt Bennett). Trina leads the new series, Helen is recurring, and Sikowitz guest-stars. Robbie also returns, but that does not mean the entire original cast is back. The central student group consists of five new characters.
The spin-off premiered on Netflix on October 15, 2026. When checked on October 29, the Brazilian Netflix listing showed 12 episodes. The story follows Trina, still struggling to establish herself as an actor, returning to the performing arts school she attended, now as a substitute teacher.
Which Victorious characters return?
| Performer | Character | Confirmed type of return |
|---|---|---|
| Daniella Monet | Trina Vega | Lead character. The former student returns to Hollywood Arts as a substitute teacher. |
| Yvette Nicole Brown | Helen Dubois | A recurring return, explicitly described as such by Netflix. |
| Eric Lange | Erwin Sikowitz | Guest appearance, reprising the acting teacher. |
| Matt Bennett | Robbie Shapiro | The former student and ventriloquist returns, along with his puppet Rex. |
The distinctions matter. Announcing a return does not automatically make every familiar character a series regular. Netflix explicitly calls Helen Dubois recurring and identifies Sikowitz as a guest star. Trina is the lead; for Robbie, the consulted material confirms an appearance, not a regular role throughout the season.
Rex belongs in a separate category: he is Robbie's ventriloquist puppet, not a newly cast human performer. His presence strengthens the connection to the Nickelodeon series without increasing the number of returning actors.
Who are the five new students?
| Performer | New character | Role in the class |
|---|---|---|
| Alyssa Miles | Emmy Ward | Oscar's sister, talented at building apps and handling stage-production technology. |
| Martin Kamm | Oscar Ward | Emmy's brother, a performer accustomed to the spotlight. |
| Peyton Jackson | Qwest | A musician who hides from his family why he attends a performing arts school. |
| Emmy Liu-Wang | Pepper | Singer and actor; Emmy's friend and Jen Z's occasional rival. |
| Erika Swayze | Jen Z | A competitive student whose relationship with Pepper mixes friendship and rivalry. |
These five performers make up the core new-generation ensemble. Much of the story contrasts Trina's complicated experience with teenagers trying to find their place in music, acting, and backstage production. Emmy and Oscar, for example, are siblings, but they should not be mistaken for siblings or classmates from the original show.
Netflix also lists Kira Kosarin, Lexi Rivera, Sofie Dossi, and Taylen Biggs among the talent featured in Hollywood Arts. The official material reviewed does not identify these four as playing pre-existing Victorious characters or provide character names for all of them. It is therefore more accurate to keep them separate from the four confirmed character returns.
A reference to Tori Vega is not a Victoria Justice appearance
Mild spoiler warning: the following section mentions a reference to the original show in Netflix's episode descriptions and discusses Tori's appearance status.
The Brazilian Netflix listing includes an episode titled O armário mágico da Tori (Tori's Magic Locker), centered on the character's former school locker. Mentioning Tori Vega, Trina's sister and the lead of Victorious, is not evidence that Victoria Justice filmed an appearance. In a report published on the premiere date, TheWrap described Tori as a character discussed but not seen onscreen in the portion of the show it covered.
Likewise, the cast materials reviewed do not confirm appearances by Ariana Grande, Elizabeth Gillies, Leon Thomas III, or Avan Jogia. That is a lack of confirmation, not an announcement that they have been permanently ruled out. Daniella Monet told TheWrap that the door is open to her former castmates for possible returns. That expresses a possibility, not a future casting commitment.
What changes, and what remains from the original?
The school and several familiar teachers remain important links, but the point of view has changed: former student Trina is now the adult responsible for a brand-new class. Hollywood Arts is therefore a spin-off continuation in the Victorious universe, not a full reunion of its 2010-to-2013 leads. To identify meaningful connections, returning onscreen characters, characters merely referenced, and newly introduced students must be kept distinct, without treating fan expectations as casting confirmation.
