Season 3 of Netflix's live-action ONE PIECE is coming in 2027, but no exact month or day has been announced. Netflix has confirmed the official title, ONE PIECE: The Battle of Alabasta, its focus on the conflict in Vivi's homeland, and the completion of filming. As of October 18, 2026, the episode count had not been revealed either.

The next chapter of the live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's work has a clear premise: Luffy and the Straw Hats will help Princess Vivi as a rebellion threatens Alabasta. Here is what the official announcements establish, and what remains unconfirmed.

When will Season 3 premiere on Netflix?

For now, 2027 is the only official release window. Netflix stated the year in its global announcement on April 7, 2026, and repeated it in a Portuguese-language Tudum update published on September 9, 2026. Neither source specifies a more precise calendar date.

That means there is no confirmed month, no basis for assuming that every episode will arrive together, and no fixed premiere countdown. Any specific 2027 date circulating without a new Netflix announcement remains speculation.

What has Netflix confirmed about the Battle of Alabasta?

Alabasta is the homeland of Princess Vivi, played by Charithra Chandran. According to the official synopsis, Luffy's crew reaches the kingdom as civil war threatens to erupt. Behind the conflict are Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, and the criminal organization Baroque Works, which aims to take control of the country.

This establishes the Alabasta arc as the focus of Season 3, but it does not tell us which manga scenes will be adapted, how events might be rearranged, or which chapter will mark the end of the season. Netflix has supplied a premise, not a full account of episodes that have yet to premiere.

Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes serve as co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers for this season. In a statement released by Netflix, they emphasized the emotional importance of the Alabasta storyline to fans and the opportunity to bring the kingdom's story to the screen.

Which cast members are confirmed?

The five main Straw Hats are returning: Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji).

Also returning are Charithra Chandran as Vivi, Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as King Nefertari Cobra. Netflix says Hoover, Manganiello, Abova, and Ramamurthy have been promoted to series regulars.

Other announced cast members include:

  • Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace and Cole Escola as Bon Clay;
  • Daisy Head as Miss Doublefinger and Awdo Awdo as Mr. 1;
  • Emilio Sakraya as Koza and Omid Abtahi as Toto;
  • Jamie Ward as Pell and Nabeel Khan as Chaka.

These are announced casting details, not necessarily a complete character list or a guarantee of how much screen time each person will receive.

Has Season 3 finished filming?

Yes. Tudum confirms that filming is complete and documents a cast gathering on the set in Cape Town, South Africa. Production began in that city in November 2025, according to an earlier Netflix announcement.

Wrapping filming is a concrete milestone, but it is not the same as announcing a premiere date. Netflix has yet to give a release calendar, so 2027 remains the only confirmed window.

How many episodes will there be, and how far will the adaptation go?

Netflix has not announced Season 3's episode count or identified the final manga chapter to be covered. The official sources consulted also do not specify whether the season will be released all at once or in separate batches.

What is confirmed is the central story: The Battle of Alabasta will take the crew into the conflict involving Vivi, Crocodile, and Baroque Works. Any precise episode total or endpoint for the adaptation would go beyond the official information.

Is THE ONE PIECE the same production?

No. ONE PIECE: The Battle of Alabasta is Season 3 of Netflix's live-action series. THE ONE PIECE is a separate project, a new anime adaptation of the manga produced by WIT Studio. Netflix presented them as distinct productions in its announcement about expanding the franchise.
