Wednesday Season 3: Filming Is Done, but When Will It Premiere?

Wednesday Season 3 finished filming on September 30, 2026. Here's what Netflix has confirmed about the release, returning cast, newcomers, and story.

Wednesday is getting a third season, but Netflix has not announced its release date. The confirmed development is the completion of filming: according to Tudum, cameras wrapped on September 30, 2026. That production milestone does not establish a 2027 premiere or any other month or year.

The announcement also covers new cast members, hints about the setting, and comments from creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Here is what is official and what remains unknown, without spoilers for the Season 2 finale.

When will Wednesday Season 3 be released?

Netflix has not announced a premiere day, month, or year for Wednesday Season 3. In its official September 30, 2026 update, the streamer confirmed that filming had ended but offered no release date. That remains the status in the sources checked on October 18, 2026.

The season may still need post-production steps such as editing, visual effects, sound finishing, and preparation of localized versions. This is why a filming wrap and a completed, ready-to-release season are different milestones. It is not a basis for calculating a reliable premiere schedule.

What changed when filming ended?

Season 3 had already been renewed before Season 2 premiered. The September 30 announcement added a new, concrete development: principal filming had concluded. Netflix released a new image of Jenna Ortega as Wednesday alongside confirmation that the camera work was finished.

Tudum says production returned to the Dublin area in Ireland. An earlier behind-the-scenes image showing the character near the Eiffel Tower also suggests a possible trip to Paris within the story. The photo is a clue about the setting, not confirmation that the entire season takes place in the French capital.

Who is confirmed in the Wednesday Season 3 cast?

Jenna Ortega returns in the lead role. Other returning cast members identified by Netflix include Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), and Victor Dorobantu (Thing).

One particularly clear addition is Eva Green as Ophelia, Morticia's sister and Wednesday's aunt. Netflix announced the casting in November 2025. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have pointed to deeper Addams family secrets in the next chapter, without laying out Ophelia's full storyline.

Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, Kennedy Moyer, Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance have also been announced. The official articles consulted do not assign specific roles to this group. Character names circulating elsewhere should therefore be treated cautiously unless confirmed.

What has Netflix revealed about the story?

Gough told Tudum that the creative team wants to explore its characters more deeply and expand the world of Nevermore Academy. Millar said more members of the Addams family will appear and further family secrets will come to light. Those remarks indicate a creative direction, not a complete synopsis or a confirmed list of story events.

Ophelia's arrival and the possible Paris detour are among the most concrete clues so far. Netflix has not published an episode-by-episode outline or described the ending of Season 3. Its official update also does not say whether the season will be split into parts or released all at once.

Where can you watch Wednesday in the meantime?

Seasons 1 and 2 of Wednesday are already available on Netflix, according to the streamer's Brazilian Tudum page. The upcoming season is also a Netflix production, but it will not actually be available to stream until a premiere is announced and takes place.

The takeaway is straightforward: filming has officially wrapped; the premiere date has not been confirmed. Any specific month or year proposed elsewhere remains speculation until Netflix announces it.
