Scheduled for release on October 23, 2026, Muse is John Legend’s new album, featuring 16 tracks and full-album production and co-writing by Pharrell Williams, according to Universal Music Brasil. The published sequence includes guest appearances by Pharrell and the duo Clipse. As of October 19, the album was still forthcoming, not an entire record already available to stream in Brazil.

Under the credits published by the label and official store, Pharrell is named as a guest on six tracks, while Clipse appears on one. Three other entries are explicitly titled as introductions. The figure of 16 therefore describes 16 positions on the official track list, including those interludes, rather than necessarily 16 conventionally full-length songs.

When is Muse coming out, and who produced it?

The release is scheduled through Republic Records for October 23, 2026. Pharrell Williams produced the album in full and contributed to its songwriting. His behind-the-scenes role is distinct from the individual tracks where he is explicitly credited as a guest performer.

The collaboration took shape after John Legend sang on The Birds Don’t Sing from Clipse’s Pharrell-produced album Let God Sort ’Em Out. The official announcement places writing and recording sessions in Paris in January 2025, at Pharrell’s studio inside Louis Vuitton headquarters. The creative direction aimed to combine classic Black music traditions with contemporary beats.

Which songs feature Pharrell Williams and Clipse?

The six announced Pharrell features, in album order, are Muse, Her, Get Back, Are You OK?, Next Time and Fireflies. Clipse appears on Bodies On The Floor, at number 12. Pharrell also produces tracks on which his name does not appear in parentheses as a featured guest.

One inconsistency between official sources: Universal Music Brasil and the official store credit Pharrell on Get Back, whereas John Legend’s own website displays simply Get Back, without the “feat.” label. This table follows the label and store; the difference in how the feature is displayed can be checked against the digital credits after release.

The entries titled Her Introduction, Under The Bridge Introduction and Bodies On The Floor - Taps Introduction denote introductory segments in the sequence. They are not additional guest artists: they occupy positions 3, 8 and 11.

How is John Legend changing his musical direction?

In the release announcement, John Legend said that his piano ballads had been the biggest successes of his career and that he wanted to change his usual approach. The label describes Muse as blending gospel, standards, doo-wop, classic soul, afrobeat and hip-hop, with a cinematic sensibility and contemporary rhythmic foundation.

The cited inspirations include Nina Simone, Nat King Cole and Marvin Gaye. Legend and Pharrell describe a concept resembling classic spy-film style reimagined through Black music. That is the project’s stated creative intention, not an independent verdict on the finished album.

The press materials provide particular examples: Her is presented as drawing from doo-wop and gospel; Get Back as cinematic soul marked by brass and strings; and Are You OK? as dealing with relationship conflict. According to the label, Bodies On The Floor borrows language associated with gang conflict as a metaphor for a troubled connection. These are attributed descriptions, not claims based on an early listen to the complete record.

What was released ahead of October 23?

Daylight was introduced as the project’s first single, with Legend also performing it on CBS’s America’s Tailgate television special. On September 25, 2026, Universal Music Brasil announced Fireflies as another early track. The song Pray For Ya had also accompanied Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2026 menswear show, according to the announcement.

On October 9, Legend released the single Here It Is for a Sephora holiday campaign in Europe. It does not appear on the official 16-track Muse list and should not be added to the album’s announced sequence.

Will Muse be available on Brazilian streaming services?

Universal Music Brasil has promoted the project, its pre-save campaign and physical-format pre-orders. However, as of October 19, 2026, the release of the complete album on each Brazilian streaming catalog had not been confirmed by the documents consulted for this article. A preview or listing on an international service is not, by itself, proof of simultaneous access in Brazil.

For Brazilian listeners, the solid reference remains the announced date of October 23. Once that date arrives, actual access, possible versions and final digital credits should be checked directly in Brazilian apps. This guide reports on the announcement and does not pretend to offer a first-hand review of the unreleased album as a whole.
