No Rest for the Wicked: who still gets the Founder's Pack after the delay?

Moon Studios extended Steam Founder's Pack eligibility to purchases made before January 1, 2027. Here's who qualifies, how PS5 pre-orders fit in and what rewards were announced.

Anyone who purchases No Rest for the Wicked on Steam before January 1, 2027 remains eligible for the Founder's Pack rewards at no additional cost, according to Moon Studios. This also covers people who bought the game after the former July 10, 2026 cutoff. On PlayStation 5, the announced route is a pre-order, with pre-orders now scheduled to open in January 2027. The rewards are tied to version 1.0, currently planned for March 2027, rather than immediate delivery.

The new deadline replaces the July cutoff

On June 2, 2026, Moon Studios announced an October 1.0 launch and promised the pack to early-access buyers who met the then-announced July 10 cutoff. In its September 1 statement, the studio moved version 1.0 to March 2027 on PC and PS5 and retroactively expanded Steam eligibility. Missing the July deadline therefore does not mean missing out on the rewards.

SituationWhat the announcements establish
Steam purchase by July 10, 2026Eligible. Earlier purchases remain covered.
Steam purchase from July 11 through December 31, 2026Eligible under the revised announcement, including retroactively.
Steam purchase on or after January 1, 2027Not covered by the announced rule, which requires purchase before January 1.
PS5 pre-orderThe announced way to qualify on console; pre-orders are scheduled to open in January 2027.

The studio's wording is before January 1, 2027, not through the end of that day. It has not specified a cutoff time or time zone. A late December 31 purchase should therefore not be assumed risk-free based on an unconfirmed time-zone conversion.

Steam purchases and PS5 pre-orders follow different rules

On PC, the rule concerns buying the game on Steam during the stated window. Its store page lists No Rest for the Wicked as an early-access title, available since April 18, 2024. The June announcement described the Founder's Pack as a free upgrade for qualifying buyers, with rewards becoming available when version 1.0 launches. Nothing in those documents suggests eligible Steam buyers must purchase the pack as a separate product to secure it.

For PS5, Moon Studios said in September that pre-orders would open in January 2027. Its original June announcement said a pre-order placed between the opening of pre-orders and launch day would qualify. Because the sales schedule has changed, buyers should check the final ordering window, edition terms and regional availability once the offer actually appears. A worldwide announcement does not establish that the pre-order is already live in Brazil's PlayStation Store.

There is one notable discrepancy: Gematsu's September report states January 2026 for PS5 pre-orders, while Moon Studios' direct announcement explicitly says January 2027. The developer's primary statement is the appropriate source for that future timetable.

What are the four announced rewards?

  • Spirit Cavern: an exclusive, handcrafted hideout on Isola Sacra.
  • Sayer's Vow: a special sword reserved for Founders.
  • Founder's Tag: a visual identifier marking early supporters of the game.
  • Founders Test Realm: access to a dedicated testing environment where Founders can try future updates, including after the version 1.0 launch.

These are announced rewards, not proof that they can already be claimed or that all will appear in an account at once before launch. Moon Studios tied delivery to version 1.0; the practical timing of the testing realm depends on further information.

What still needs checking?

Existing Steam owners can check their purchase date in their account's transaction history and keep the receipt. Prospective buyers should follow the actual deadline wording rather than assuming a precise cutoff hour. The announcements do not spell out how refunds, gifts, keys bought outside Steam or other special transactions will be treated, so it would be misleading to promise identical eligibility in those cases.

As of October 28, 2026, the consulted documents support a March 2027 release window, with no exact day confirmed, and PS5 pre-orders expected in January. They also do not establish an equivalent Founder's Pack offer for eventual Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2 versions. New terms from Moon Studios and the relevant storefronts should be checked before a PS5 offer goes live or a purchase is made close to the Steam deadline.
