Spoiler warning: this article reveals the entire plot and ending of White Chicks (2004).

In White Chicks (2004), FBI agents Kevin and Marcus Copeland take the identities of heiresses Brittany and Tiffany Wilson after an escort assignment goes wrong. The disguises are meant to save their careers and allow them to keep protecting the young women, but they ultimately lead the brothers to the real mastermind of the kidnappings: Warren Vandergeld, a businessman desperate to conceal his financial collapse. The case comes to a head at a fashion show, where the agents' identities are exposed and the kidnapping plot is stopped.

Why do Kevin and Marcus disguise themselves as Brittany and Tiffany?

The Copeland brothers, played by Shawn Wayans (Kevin) and Marlon Wayans (Marcus), start the film in trouble with the FBI. A drug operation has failed, and their superior, Elliott Gordon, gives them a chance to regain the agency's trust: escort Brittany and Tiffany Wilson, daughters of a cruise-line businessman, to a society event in the Hamptons. The heiresses are considered possible targets in a series of kidnappings involving wealthy people.

On the drive, the women's dog causes a disturbance that ends in a car accident. Brittany and Tiffany suffer minor facial injuries and refuse to attend the event. Afraid of losing his job, Kevin persuades Marcus to carry out an extreme plan: keep the real sisters out of public view while a friend skilled in makeup and prosthetics turns the two agents into their lookalikes. Kevin becomes Brittany; Marcus becomes Tiffany.

What happens to the fake heiresses in the Hamptons?

The brothers must impersonate the socialites in front of Lisa Anderson, Karen Googlestein and Tori Wilson, friends who know the sisters, while navigating a rivalry with Heather and Megan Vandergeld. Their attempts to copy the women's behavior, clothes and relationships produce comic situations, but also keep the agents close to the social circle in which the kidnapper may strike.

Basketball player Latrell Spencer becomes infatuated with the person he believes is Tiffany, unaware that she is actually Marcus. He even wins a date with the fake heiress at a charity auction. Kevin, meanwhile, is attracted to reporter Denise Porter and goes so far as to pretend to be Latrell to impress her. At the same time, Marcus's wife, Gina, mistakes his secretive behavior for evidence of an affair. Fellow agents Vincent Gomez and Jake Harper also grow suspicious of the supposed Wilson sisters.

Who is initially suspected, and which clues identify the culprit?

The investigation begins with Ted Burton, a man connected to previous business disputes involving the Wilson family. However, information Kevin obtains from Denise weakens the idea that Burton needs to arrange the kidnappings. The breakthrough comes when Karen says that Warren Vandergeld, father of Heather and Megan and an influential figure at the event, is in serious financial trouble and has been relying on loans.

The brothers connect that revelation to Warren's interest in the heiresses' social circle. They also uncover irregularities involving money handled through his charity. The contrast between the host's wealthy public image and his actual finances becomes the main clue that he needs ransom payments.

How do the disguises begin to unravel?

Matters worsen when the real Brittany and Tiffany realize someone is using their identities and come to the Hamptons. Gina arrives too, suspicious of Marcus. Gomez and Harper try to expose the impostors, but mistake the genuine sisters for the undercover agents and embarrass themselves by trying to remove makeup that does not exist.

Gordon suspends Gomez and Harper and dismisses Kevin and Marcus after learning about their unauthorized operation. Even so, the brothers continue investigating the financial evidence against Warren. With their colleagues' help, they return to the event to prevent the crime, despite lacking their boss's approval.

Who planned the kidnapping, and what happens at the final fashion show?

At the fashion show ending the weekend, Kevin and Marcus put their disguises back on. The Vandergeld sisters try to sabotage them on the runway, while the real Wilson sisters also arrive. With both pairs present at once, the deception becomes impossible to maintain, causing confusion among the guests.

Warren uses the commotion to begin the kidnapping, but his men initially mistake their targets because two sets of supposed sisters are present. He later manages to threaten the real heiresses. During the confrontation, his financial troubles and role in the crime are exposed, including in front of Denise's news crew. The attempted abduction reveals a scheme to obtain ransom money to cover his collapsing finances.

Heath and Russ participate as accomplices. Latrell puts himself in danger to protect the person he thinks is Tiffany and is shot. Kevin also risks his life while protecting Denise and shoots Warren in the shoulder. The Copeland brothers apprehend Warren, while Gomez and Harper capture his accomplices. The FBI therefore prevents the kidnapping, although the success follows a string of mistakes and improvisations.

What changes for each character after the final reveal?

Once the disguises are removed, everyone learns that the two socialites seen for much of the weekend were actually Kevin and Marcus. Latrell is particularly startled to discover who was behind the identity of Tiffany. Gordon acknowledges that the agents solved the case and reinstates the brothers and their colleagues.

Marcus explains what happened to Gina, and the couple reconciles. Kevin and Denise get together after she learns his true identity. Latrell turns his attention to the real Brittany and Tiffany. Karen, Lisa and Tori admit they preferred the fake sisters because the agents showed them a kind of friendship they did not experience in quite the same way with the actual heiresses. The film ends with a promise to remain friends and go shopping together.

The ending resolves both sides of the story: the criminal investigation exposes the person behind the kidnapping scheme, and Kevin and Marcus's social masquerade finally ends. The very disguises that endangered them also brought them close to the culprit and helped them regain their FBI jobs.
